Peak Capacity of PepMax™ Columns
The new 1.6µ 100Å PepMax C18P nano capillary columns have peak capacities that are 50-100% higher than most commercial nano capillary columns packed with sub 2.0µ materials. This allows proteomics researchers to use shorter PepMax columns with shorter gradient times to achieve desired results. The graph below shows the peak capacity versus gradient time of five 75µ ID PepMax columns, where peak capacity is measured by the gradient time divided by the average peak width ( TG/PW½).
This data shows that the PepMax HT (75µ x 80mm) is best for gradient times from 5-30 minutes, the PepMax HS (75µ x 150mm) is best for gradient times from 30-60 minutes and the PepMax HR (75µ x 250mm) is best for gradient times from 60-120 minutes.
Peak Widths as Low as 1 Second
The trace above shows a five minute gradient separation (192 SPD) of 4ng of a HeLa digest on a 75µ x 80mm 1.6µ 100Å PepMax C18P column (PC > 200).
