A polymeric monolith trap/loop with a 300 nanoliter bed volume coupled with a 100nl Peek sheathed fused silica tube (40u x 100mm) for use in most 1/16" injection valves. This trap/loop is used to concentration and desalting up to 4 ug of total peptide load in large sample volumes (4-40 microliters) at high flow rates (2 - 20 microlites per minute) with low back pressures. This trap/loop works well with most C8 and C18 columns with an internal diameter of 100-150 micron, as peptides elute from the polymeric trap at a lower organic concentration and then restack on the head of the column. This extremely robust trap/loop can be used in both forward flush and back flush mode and washed as required at any pH (2-12) or temperature.
